About Kari

Kari Douma, professional photographer.

This blog was started for a 365 project in 2010 by Kari Douma, from Kari Douma Photography. Jayne Wirebaugh (studio manager for Kari Douma Photography worked on a 365 project in 2011, and now Kari is working on a project 52 in 2011. Here is a note from Kari....

Welcome to my Project 52... After completing a 365 project in 2010, I took a year off to relax and recuperate while my studio manager Jayne took over the project! After taking that year off, I realized that I missed a project, something to make me get out and challenge myself. I wasn't quite ready to commit to a 365 project again, but I wanted something that would challenge me artistically and photographically. So I decided on a project 52. One theme a week, and no minimum or maximum to the number of pictures that I would post for the week, maybe one, maybe ten. So, check back often, and join me on my year long photographic journey.

Feel free to join me, comment on the images, or ask questions. You can contact me here...

Day 169

It was so hard to choose which image to post today for my 365 project, we saw so many amazing places on our walking tour of Rome today! We walked from our hotel, The Exedra at the Piazza Republica (a "town square" is generally a circle in Rome, called a Piazza), to the Piazza del Popolo, down to Piazza di Spagna which is where I photographed the "Spanish Steps". These world famous steps were built in 1725 to connect the piazza to the Trinita dei Monti church at the top. We walked for hours and had a great tour of Rome! If you want to see more photographs from our walking tour, check out my "Almost 365" album on our Kari Douma Photography Facebook page... ~Jayne
